Superintendent Margo Ferrick is pleased to announce that Beth Benoit has been selected as Principal of Penn Brook Elementary School effective July 1.
Benoit comes to Penn Brook from the Bedford Public Schools, where she has served as Principal of the Lt. Eleazer Davis School since June 2013.
Benoit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College, a Master’s degree in Child Development and Early Childhood Education from Tufts University, and has performed post-graduate coursework in administrative leadership and policy students at the University of Colorado.
She brings significant practical experience to Georgetown, having worked as a building administrator and early childhood education director in both Colorado and Massachusetts.
Benoit also has served as a lecturer at Arapahoe Community College, Bunker Hill Community College, and Tufts University.
Georgetown Public Schools will welcome incoming Principal Benoit on Monday, June 3, and host meet-and-greet sessions in the Penn Brook Library from 3-4 p.m. for staff, and from 4-5:30 p.m. for the school community.
“It is a pleasure to welcome Beth to Georgetown. She has an impressive background, and her student-centered focus and track record in engaging the community will be a tremendous asset,” Superintendent Ferrick said.
Benoit is in the process of developing an entry plan that will include an opportunity for community members to schedule 1:1 or small group conversations about Penn Brook.
