The 2nd Annual Budget Fair will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, April 30, from 4-6 p.m. at the Penn Brook School, Penn Brook School, 68 Elm St.
Town officials will be present to discuss their specific budgets at various tables, giving residents to opportunity to pick which specific budget they would like to learn more about. Town leaders will be able to answer questions and provide additional information about the budget.
Town Participants will include:
- Town Administrator Orlando Pacheco
- Members of the Georgetown Select Board
- The Georgetown Finance and Advisory Committee
- Superintendent Margo Ferrick
- Chief Matt McKay and Georgetown Firefighters
- Chief David Sedgwick and Georgetown Police Officers
- Georgetown Council on Aging staff and volunteers
- Georgetown Peabody Library Director Sarah Cognata
- Town Clerk Kerri McManus
The Town of Georgetown 2025-2026 budget accounts for two scenarios: A level-funded budget (rejecting an increase over Proposition 2 1/2) and a needs-based budget (seeking an increase over Proposition 2 1/2). The Budget Fair will offer residents a chance to learn more about specific department budgets and connect with town officials who will provide insight and valuable information.
The event will also feature free activities for kids, courtesy of the Georgetown PTA, and feature arts and crafts and free food and entertainment for kids.
